Abstract
Infeksi bakteri dan jamur patogen merupakan masalah kesehatan yang terjadi hampir di seluruh dunia, salah satunya adalah infeksi bakteri Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus aureus yang saat ini banyak mengalami resistensi terhadap penggunaan antibiotik sehingga dapat menimbulkan masalah baru diperlukan penggembangan alternatif antibiotik dari bahan alami. oleh karena itu, pada penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektifitas perasan daun pegagan terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Penelitian ini bersifat eksperimen, menggunakan populasi isolat bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dari RSUD Jombang menggunakan metode difusi. Penelitian ini terdapat 2 variabel yakni variabel bebas yaitu perasan Daun pegagan (Centella asiatica) dengan kontrol negatif, konsentrasi 25%, 50%, 75% dan 100% dan variabel terikat yaitu bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dan penggunaan chloramphenicol sebagai kontrol positif. Pengambilan sampel penelitian ini dengan random sampling. Pada hasil penelitian didapatkan hasil uji fitokimia tanin negatif dan pada sampel uji dengan konsentrasi 25%, 50%, 75% dan 100% tidak terdapat zona hambat. Pada kelompok kontrol didapatkan hasil kontrol positif menggunakan chloramphenicol didapatkan hasil rata rata zona hambat 12,5mm dan kontrol negatif 0 mm. Perasan daun pegagan (Centella asiatica) tidak mempunyai efektifitas dalam menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus Kata Kunci : Perasan daun pegagan, Staphylococcus aureus
