Abstract

Pendahuluan : Daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia) merupakan salah satu tumbuhan yang memiliki kemampuan sebagai zat antibakteri. Menurut beberapa penelitian yang telah dilakukan daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia) memiliki aktivitas antibakteri dari kandungan flavonoid dan saponin yang dimilikinya. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk memberi gambaran aktivitas antibakteri perasan daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia) dengan konsentrasi 25%, 50%, 75%, dan 100% pada pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif eksperimental. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah isolat bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Metode sampling yang digunakan adalah simple random sampling. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah suspensi bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah observasi. Hasil pengukuran diameter zona hambat terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus dengan metode Kirby-bauer kemudian dianalisa menggunakan metode statistik deskriptif. Hasil : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata diameter hambat perasan daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia) terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus yang didapatkan pada konsentrasi 25% adalah 3,67 mm; pada konsentrasi 50% sebesar 6 mm; pada konsentrasi 75% sebesar 8 mm; sedangkan pada konsentrasi 100% sebesar 8,67 mm. Kesimpulan : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan aktivitas antibakteri perasan daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia) mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Kata Kunci : Daun binahong, Aktivitas antibakteri, Staphylococcus aureus ========================================================= Introduction : Binahong leaves (Anredera cordifolia) was one of the plants that had the ability as an antibacterial agent. According to several studies, binahong (Anredera cordifolia) leaves had antibacterial activity due to their flavonoid and saponin content. Methods : This research used descriptive experimental method. The population in this study were isolates of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The sampling method used was simple random sampling. The sample in this study was a suspension of Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The instrument used in this research is observation. The results of the measurement of the diameter of the inhibition zone against Staphylococcus aureus by the Kirby-bauer method were then analyzed using descriptive statistical methods. Result : This study used a descriptive experimental method. The juice of the binahong (Anredera cordifolia) leaves was obtained by pounding the binahong (Anredera cordifolia) leaves and then filtering to take the juice. The result of the measurement of the diameter of the inhibition zone against Staphylococcus aureus by the Kirby-bauer method were then analyzed using descriptive statistics. Conclusion : The result showed that the average diameter of the inhibition of binahong (Anredera cordifolia) leaves against Staphylococcus aureus at a concentration of 25% was 3,67 mm; at a concentration of 50% by 6 mm; at a concentration of 75% by 8 mm; while at 100% concentration of 8,67 mm. The result showed that the antibacterial activity of binahong (Anredera cordifolia) leaves juice was able to inhibit the growth of Staphylococcus aureus.
