Abstract
UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIBAKTERI AIR REBUSAN DAUN SIRIH (Piper betle Linn) TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN BAKTERI Streptococcus pyogenes DENGAN METODE DIFUSI CAKRAM Oleh Ananda Sandi Devi Anggraini 18.131.0005 Pendahuluan: Daun sirih (Piper betle Linn) memiliki komponen antibakteri dan antibiotik untuk pengobatan masalah pernapasan, dan penyakit akibat infeksi bakteri. Memiliki aktivitas antibakteri dari kandungan saponin, flavonoid dan fenol. Bakteri Streptococcus pyogenes dapat ditemukan pada penderita penyakit faringitis, dan menyebabkan berbagai masalah klinis, dari faringitis hingga infeksi invasif parah. Tujuan: Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri air rebusan daun sirih (Piper betle Linn) pada konsentrasi 25%, 50%, 75%, dan 100% terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Streptococcus pyogenes. Metode: Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi Prodi D-III Teknologi Laboratorium Medis, pengambilan sampel dilakukan di RSUD Kabupaten Jombang dan teknik sampling menggunakan simple random sampling. Variabel pada penelitian ini adalah aktivitas antibakteri rebusan daun sirih (Piper betle Linn) terhadap pertumbuhan bakteri Streptococcus pyogenes dengan metode difusi cakram. Teknik pengolahan data meliputi coding dan tabulating dengan analisa data menggunakan pengumpulan data. Hasil: Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan pada air rebusan konsentrasi 25% adalah 0 mm, pada konsentrasi 50% sebesar 0,29 mm, pada konsentrasi 75% sebesar 28,33 mm, dan pada konsentrasi 100% sebesar 29 mm termasuk dalam kategori sangat kuat. Kesimpulan: Berdasarkan hasil yang didapat dari penelitian ini menunjukkan aktivitas antibakteri air rebusan daun sirih (Piper betle Linn) mampu menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri Streptococcus pyogenes, dengan rata-rata daya hambat yang diperoleh termasuk dalam kategori sangat kuat. Kata Kunci: Daun sirih, Aktivitas Antibakteri, Streptococcus pyogenes =========================================================== ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY TEST OF BETEL LEAVES STEW (Piper betle Linn) ON THE GROWTH OF Streptococcus pyogenes BACTERIA WITH DISC-DIFFUSION METHODS By : Ananda Sandi Devi Anggraini Introduction: Betel leaves (Piper betle Linn) has antibacterial components and antibiotics for treatment of respiratory problems, and diseases due to bacterial infections. It has an antibacterial activity of the saponin, flavonoid and phenol content. Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria can be found in patients with pharyngitis, and cause various clinical problems, from pharyngitis to severe invasive infections. Objective: This study was to determine the antibacterial activity of betle leaves (Piper Betle Linn) at a concentration of 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of the growth of Streptococcus pyogenes bacteria. Method: The type of research used is descriptive research. This research was conducted at the Microbiology Laboratory of the D-III Technology Medical Laboratory Technology, the sampling was carried out in RSUD Jombang and sampling technique using Simple Random Sampling. The variable in this study is an antibacterial activity of betel leaves stew (Piper betle Linn) on the growth of streptococcus pyogenes bacteria with disc-diffusion methods. Data processing techniques include coding and tabulating with data analysis using data collection. Results: Based on the results of the research that had been carried out on decoction of 25% concentration was 0 mm, at a concentration of 50% of 0.29 mm, at a concentration of 75% by 28.33 mm, and at a concentration of 100% of 29 mm among the very categories strong. Conclusion: Based on the results which obtained from this study, it showed the antibacterial activity of betel leaf stew (Piper bettle Linn) could obstruct the growth of streptococcus pyogenes bacteria, with the approximately of obstruct level was a very strong category.
